Getting Started

First Time Setup

  1. Download and Install: Get Penny Keeper from the App Store
  2. Add Your First Child: Tap the “+” button to add a child’s profile
  3. Set Initial Balance: Enter your child’s current allowance amount
  4. Choose Currency: Select your preferred currency from the settings
  5. Select Language: The app supports multiple languages including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and French

Q: Is Penny Keeper free to use? A: Yes, Penny Keeper is completely free with no in-app purchases or subscriptions.

Q: Can I manage multiple children? A: Absolutely! You can add and manage as many children as needed.

Q: Does the app work offline? A: Yes, Penny Keeper works completely offline. All data is stored locally on your device.

Q: Can I change the currency? A: Yes, go to Settings and select your preferred currency. The app supports major global currencies.

Data & Privacy

Q: Where is my data stored? A: All data is stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to external servers.

Q: Can I backup my data? A: Currently, data is stored locally. We recommend using iCloud backup for your device to preserve app data.

Q: How do I transfer data to a new device? A: Use iCloud backup and restore, or manually export data from Settings if available.

Functionality

Q: Can I set recurring allowances? A: Currently, all transactions are manual. Recurring allowances may be added in future updates.

Q: Is there a limit to transaction amounts? A: No, you can enter any reasonable amount for rewards or punishments.

Q: Can I edit or delete past transactions? A: Transaction editing may be available in the transaction history. Check the latest app version for current capabilities.
